In art three I learned a lot and I grew as an artist. We studied new ideas and concepts that I have never worked with before. These contemporary artists and ideas really challenged me to learn and go outside my normal artistic realm.
The first pieces I am going to elaborate on are my anatomical pieces. I did three pieces that work as a mini collection. When I was first presented with this project, I read the assignment of working with postmodern principles and immediately was trying to think of ideas to work with juxtaposition. But I quickly became stomped it unsatisfied with any of my ideas. So, I decided to take a break and watercolor a skin cross-section and label it. Then it came to me. I could do this and it would be text in art. Before this project I hated the idea of texting art but after I was very satisfied. And now I have a new respect for postmodern principles.
The second piece I will elaborate on was for the project we got assigned by being given an essential question. "What is something you never got to say?" We also had to use print on in someway. My piece was called "Thank You".I chose the idea of an industrial background with the flower vase I made my background by using a linoleum block. I was in credibly happy with how it turned out and it really made me appreciate print some more that is because really made me appreciate print more because it is very difficult to carve.
Overall I really learned a lot in art three and it really challenged me to think outside the box. Now I have more respect for contemporary art.
